Research interests


Research of landscape archaeological features

The human communities living in the landscape leave landscape traces, so-called landscape archaeological features (e.g. mounds, ramparts, earthworks, sites of churches and settlements). Detailed investigation of these features enables to understand the connection between the landscape and people, to model the effects on the landscape and human communities. In addition during researches the ecological relevance of these features show up (conversion or losing of habitats). Good example of this is the decrease of biodiversity on the mounds (kurgans). For historical ecological investigations the analysis of landscape and settlement history, furthermore the place names - as landscape traces - give relevant information.
